Below is a list (with links) of some of the bands and artists who have had the most impact on my own music. More detailed profiles will follow in due course, along with brief reviews of the albums that have influenced me the most or which I particularly enjoy.

Ozric Tentacles - Pyschedelic space rock with unconventional structures, eastern-sounding scales, and the integration of electronic and real instruments (dance/rock hybrid). The greatest inspiration and influence on my music.

Jimi Hendrix - The original rock guitar innovator; adventurous use of blues licks, passionate soloing and raw tone.

Chris Bass (Lime) - My former guitar teacher: much of my playing style and technique is attributable to him. Great combined rhythm and lead playing; superb ‘touch’ - that elusive combination of pick attack, mutings, tone and vibrato.

Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme, Mourning Widows) - One of the greatest exponents of electric guitar; tight muted speed-picking; clicks, scrapes and harmonics; funky syncopations in both rhythm and lead.

Steve Vai - Technically awesome (bordering perfection); creative phrasing and note choice; consummate control and precision.

Joe Satriani - Also brilliant; more melodic than Vai.

Afro-Celt Sound System - Exciting blend of African and Irish instruments with electronica.

Eat Static - Superbly original techno/drum’n’bass/trance. Also check out Dendron and Nodens Ictus side projects.

Shpongle, Younger Brother - Beautiful boundary-breaking psychedelic chill-out music from Simon Posford.

Other artists who I have enjoyed or who have influenced me in the past and present include: The Shadows, Sky, Ben Harper, Bob Marley, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Liquid Soul, Courtney Pine, John Patitucci, Dave Brubeck, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Frank Zappa, Incubus, Dreamtheater, Planet X, Tabla Beat Science, Photek, Goldie, Hallucinogen, Ott, Bluey, Doof, Lamb, Gorecki.
